1. Information We Collect

DesignSpark LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates patchIT, a DMX-512A addressing and patching application available at pkpatchit.com and as a desktop application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information you provide directly
  • Account registration information (email address, name)
  • Billing information processed through Paddle (our payment processor; we do not store card data)
  • Fixture library data, project files, and DMX patch configurations you create
  • Channel chart files (images or PDFs) you upload when using the AI Import feature
  • Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback)
Information collected automatically
  • Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, timestamps
  • Usage data: features used, session duration, error reports
  • Device identifiers for desktop app licensing verification
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)
Free plan users (no account)

If you use the free check-off tool without creating an account, we collect only anonymous usage analytics and standard server log data. No personally identifiable information is required or collected.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the patchIT application and related services
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription through Paddle
  • Sync your projects and fixture libraries across devices (Pro and Team plans)
  • Process channel chart files you upload through the AI Import feature
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, account notices)
  • Respond to support requests and communications
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Send product updates or marketing communications (you may opt out at any time)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your DMX project data or fixture configurations for any purpose other than delivering the service to you.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as necessary to provide the Service:

  • Paddle: payment processing. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and handles all payment data under their own Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your card details.
  • Supabase: cloud database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored with row-level security; no other users can access your data.
  • AI Processing Service: when you use the AI Channel Chart Import feature, the file you upload is transmitted to our proprietary AI processing service for analysis. See Section 3a for details.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
3a. AI Channel Chart Import: Data Handling

When you use the AI Import feature, the image or PDF you upload is sent to our proprietary AI processing interface for analysis. Your file is processed in real time and is not stored, retained, or used for AI model training. The only output returned is the extracted channel function data, which is saved in your fixture library. You may review and correct this data before saving. You should not upload files containing personally identifiable information unrelated to fixture channel specifications.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics resellers.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax purposes. Channel chart files uploaded to the AI Import feature are not retained after processing. Free plan anonymous usage logs are retained for up to 12 months.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, row-level database security, and access controls. All AI Import file transmissions are encrypted in transit and are not logged or retained. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your patchIT account.

6. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
